General Information

UMBRO is a brand of apparel, shoes and equipment for football. Founded in 1920 in Wilmslow England as Humphrey Brothers Clothing, in 1924 the company changed its name to UMBRO a contraction of its previous name, Humphrey Brothers. In 1985 UMBRO introduced their first football boot in Brazil which went into production two years later.

UMBRO has produced kits for many notable teams since establishment; its first kit was produced for Manchester City in 1934 which won the FA Cup that same year. Other teams with UMBRO produced uniforms have included Manchester United, Celtic, Olympique Lyonnais, Santos, Galatasaray, Olympiakos, CSKA Moscow, Spartak Moscow, Atlético Nacional, Cruz Azul, Esbjerg fB, Chelsea F.C. and Everton F.C. In addition to club teams UMBRO also produced kits for international teams including Brazil, England, Ireland, Norway, Sweden and Kenya, during the 1966 World Cup all but one of the 16 participating teams wore UMBRO uniforms. Player endorsements of UMBRO include Michael Owen, Deco, Alan Shearer, John Terry and David James.
