Information
The classic Blackspot Sneaker and v2.0: The Unswoosher are both designed by John Fluevog, known for his cutting edge innovativeness and flair. The shoes comply with vegan standards, and are being monitored by Robin Webb of Vegetarian Shoes in the UK. Robin is an industry leader dedicated to the production of ethical footwear. Blackspots are sold only in independently owned retail stores worldwide.
We're using 100% organic hemp, which is processed with natural methods such as water retting, eliminating the need to use chemicals. The Blackspot Sneaker has a rubber sole and a toe cap that is 70% biodegradable, whereas The Unswoosher has a sole made from recovered car tires. We're not currently using water-based glues, as they lack permanence so shoe longevity suffers. The white anti-logo and the red splotches are hand-painted, and the soles are stitched, glued and embedded for extra durability.

In my opinion, these shoes looks like children's shoes except enlarged. The oversized white toe cap looks humorous and so does the huge sole. The point of these shoes is to fight corperation, but if you want to buy these shoes to look good, you're going to look very funny. It felt comfortable for what it was and I'll give it that, but these shoes look horrible in person. Don't be fooled by the pictures, save your money and buy something else.
My personal picture for comparison to Chuck Taylors and Jack Purcells :

Uncomfortable at first but after a week they ended up fitting perfect.--Whywhywhy 23:38, 24 January 2006 (MST)

I still rock my first pair of Blackspots, the Chuck Taylor knock off. They are really well made, and have lasted me for a quite a while. When I received my V2s (the shoes in the above picture) they came with several defects. The white rubber thing was hanging off the side of my left shoe, and the inside of the boot was only partially lined (missing about %40 percent of material). Also after a few days of light use the front black toe cover came unstitched. Crap happens, so I contacted Adbusters about the defects and they asked me to mail them back the shoes using regular mail. So about a month and a half later I receive a box from Adbusters containing... the wrong shoes.. They sent me V1's. So I called and they took care of the situation, this time without using the regular mail that takes about 3 weeks to deliver. I receive my second pair of Blackspots and wore them for about a week before the seam on the top of the right boot came unstitched. No I just bring them to my local shoe repair shop and they have restitched the shoes. I love the look of them, but was really disappointed with the qaulity (for such an expensive boot). -Review from Doc Pop on March 27th 2006
