General Information

Although the resemble Nike's Air Force 1 design, they improve on it in many ways: first the quality is much higher on bape's products, the use of different material paticularly flamboyant colored patent leather. Many of Bape's clientele are lured by its flashy designs and exclusivity. Although many americans claim that bape is no longer worn by japanese and has "gone pop" this is certainly not true. A stroll through Tokyo's trendy Harajuku district and you will see that most japanese hipsters have atleast one article of bape on. This is hard to believe because bape is an expensive brand charging $100 for a t-shirt and up to $400 for a sweatshirt. Bape is sported by Pharrell, The Clipse, Lil' Wayne, Young Jeezy, Usher, and more recently Jay-Z. Nigo who began as a DJ orginaly gave out his clothing to people who he thought were "trend setters" he soon began selling it and it became the craze in Japan. Bape will celebrate its thirteenth aniversary this year. Bape's Busy Work Shop's have gone international with shops not only in Tokyo, but also, London, New York, Taipei, and most recently Hong Kong.

A Busy Work Shop is currently planned for Los Angeles.
